How to be Self-Motivated? 6 Ultra-Easy ways11/24/2014 ![]() These are the Top Six Self-Motivation Tips I’ve shared with my Success Coaching clients. These tips are validated by scientific studies and in fact, followed with utmost precision by ultra Successful Leaders & Super-Human Athletes to actualise their goals. ![]() 1. Me First To start with, it’s crucial to take care of yourself. That means getting proper sleep, exercise and nutrition. Japanese Philosophy has put it very simply in the "Me-First" Wisdom i.e. you can achieve your goals and contribute to others happiness only if you are happy & healthy to begin with. 2. Achieve Everyday Once you have identified your personal and professional goals that are time-bound, use your daily hours well by discerning what is most important and /or urgent. Break down your tasks and time into milestones & slots that help you "achieve everyday", which releases the hormone called dopamine - a rush of motivation. 3. Restoration The real growth in any activity is hidden in the stress that is built into the system. Stress, like any muscle, stretches the more you use it & grows during the rest period. Contrary to popular belief, it is not stress that kills but the lack of restoration and rejuvenation that burns you out. In between the multitasking & high-pressured environment, build time to refuel and refresh your focus, to be able to deep dive into the next segment of stress. 4. Concentrated Effort to Change The human spirit is driven by curiosity and adventure within an ever-changing environment, therefore, by choice one is constantly adopting new methods and releasing old methods - whether in your field of work, personal preferences, hobbies, interests, etc. Create your own effective change management system that involves offering periodic, concentrated effort to change that is seamless and not overwhelming. 5. Inner Technology Ensure that technology serves rather than abuses you. Block out certain hours of the day and one day of the week when you're not wired to the wireless world to enhance the functioning of your Inner technology. 6. Lift your Spirit Use education vis-a-vis entertainment to relax your mind, numb your senses and lift your spirit and that's a combination of true leisure. Visit a great museum, watch a play, give time to your favourite hobby, listen to a new genre of music, visit a new city or get lost in the tranquil of nature. **Special Note for Monday Blues** With the onset of Monday, many of us have our emotions hijacked from Sunday evening onwards. Manage this anti-behaviour by planning an Ultra-Cool physical activity for Monday mornings- BEFORE you get to work. Psychologically, your mind will be rewired to look forward to the awesome activity rather to the monotonous job. E.g. a jog on the beach, yoga on your terrace, kick-boxing training, capoeira classes to name a few and watch how differently your day & week plays out.
